Every automotive business needs a shop truck, right? Something that’s both cool and handy for running parts and picking up supplies. That’s a philosophy we’ve always adhered to, and we know plenty of shops and companies in the automotive aftermarket agree. When that business happens to be Billet Specialties, the shop truck better sit right, look fantastic, and roll on a killer set of billet wheels!
The team at Billet Specialties didn’t plan on building this bitchin’ black ’65 Chevy C10, but could hardly turn it down when it became available. Built by Boris Maryanovsky and his talented crew at Street Machinery in Ohio, it had all the right ingredients for showcasing Billet Specialties’ wares – a great low stance, LS power, and beautiful black paint accented by bright red upholstery. A deal was quickly made and the truck was soon fully outfitted with a selection of Billet Specialties accessories.
One of the first things people notice about this custom C10 is the wheels. They’re Billet Specialties Bonneville C models with a brushed clear coat center finish, sized at 20×8.5-inches in front and 20×10-inches out back. Suspension components from RideTech tuck the wheels up high where they belong, giving the truck an aggressive and agile stance.
Getting those big billet wheels turning is a Chevy LS1 equipped with a BTR Stage 3 camshaft and dressed to the nines with Billet Specialties accessories. The whittled aluminum goodies include Billet Specialties polished LS Modular Valve Covers and a black Billet Specialties LS TruTrac front drive accessory system. The well-dressed LS engine is backed by a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission.
The interior of this slick C10 has seen plenty of updates, as well, but still retains its vintage truck character. Ciadella Interiors supplied the red ’59 Impala-style seat cover, which was installed by Interiors by Dave. The dash and doors were painted red to match, as was the ididit tilt column, which was topped with a 15.5-inch Billet Specialties Vintec steering wheel. Dakota Digital gauges help update the dash.
The finished hauler has all the elements you could want in a custom commercial vehicle. It’s cool, it’s low, and it’s clean. Best of all, this sleek C10 never fails to grab attention on the road or at events. When it comes to standout shop trucks, can you really ask for anything more?
