Greetings from the crown jewel of Goodguys events!
The 31st Goodguys West Coast Nationals is glistening in the California sun, setting the stage for what promises to be a picture-perfect weekend in P-town!
After four days of warming up with Goodguys Hot Rod Week runs and activities, the Alameda County Fairgrounds started hopping early Friday morning with a steady stream of hot rods, customs, muscle cars and classics poring through the gates. The best rides in the west – and beyond – are cruisin’ in, cleaning up and showing off!
It’s a special weekend for street rods, as some of the nation’s top builders have brought their finest pre-’48 creations out to vie for the prestigious America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod Award. Competition promises to be tough – there are some serious machines here. Five deserving finalists will be selected by mid-day Saturday, with the winner being announced at a special ceremony at the end of the afternoon.
There’s plenty of additional automotive action planned for the weekend, with special parking areas like Trick Truck, Mighty Muscle, and a huge Good Wood area slated for Saturday, plus a Nitro Thunderfest bringing the noise and fury of vintage drag machines to the show grounds. We’ve got special displays of Bonneville racers, Cushman scooters, and concours classics from the Blackhawk Museum, plus a pinstriper’s Brush Bash with artists pulling fine lines. A massive swap meet and Cars 4 Sale Corral is certain to hold some treasures, and hundreds of the industry’s top manufacturers and retailers are here showing their wares.
The weather’s going to be hot, but the four-wheeled action promises to be even hotter as we roll through the weekend. If you’re anywhere close, you’ll want to make sure to join us for a West Coast weekend to remember!
