Road Tour Spotlight!

There are three men who have been on all five Goodguys Hall of Fame Road Tours who completed every leg of the journey! These kings of the road are what this tour is all about – guys who drive bitchin’ cars, are super Goodguys and like the rest of us who have enjoyed this tour – made lasting friendships.

Harold & Tracy Chapman, Andice, Texas:

Harold and his wife Tracy have not only driven the entire distance of every Goodguys Hall of Fame Road Tour (2013-2017), they have hosted a stop at their Customs & Hot Rods of Andice hot rod emporium deep in the heart of Texas.

We first met the Chapman’s at the 2013 Grand National Roadster Show when they debuted their “Pretty Penny” ’33 Ford roadster. It was a spectacular build signaling the wave of bad to the bone cars and trucks to roll out of their shop. It went on to be named America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod that summer in Pleasanton. It was their ride on the first HOF Road Tour.

When the 2015 HOF Road Tour kicked off, here came “Pearl” – a white and blue 700hp ’49 Cadillac convertible Series 62. It had gone from final assembly to the Road Tour starting blocks untested. Built for Tracy, the car ran all 2,500 miles trouble free. It was a testament to Harold and his team’s build quality and attention to detail.

Most recently, they have driven their LS7 powered 1968 Corvette – the car that was named Goodguys Muscle Machine of the Year in 2016. The car is a street and track beast, proving its mettle in AutoCross competition, big show wins and road-tested reliability.

Aside from their cars, the Chapman’s are the nicest people you will meet, dedicated to family and fast cars. They get what this whole tour is about – forging rock solid relationships with kindred spirits. For the last few years, they have graciously provided a support trailer driven by their shop foreman Michael Kaiser in case somebody breaks down and needs a lift free of charge!

The Chapman’s and all of the other dedicated participants we are fortunate enough to roll with have formed unbreakable bonds, bonds tied together with pure passion for adventure and cool cars.
