It’s said that the perception of time seems to accelerate as you age and Goodguys might be the perfect embodiment of that theory. It’s difficult to believe we’re celebrating 35 years of producing our special brand of automotive fun this year. Thirty-five years! That’s a lot of time in the rearview mirror. Then again, when you’re driving a hot rod, the scenery always seems to go by quickly.
Needless to say, all of us at Goodguys are extremely proud of reaching this milestone and are very thankful to our members, participants, spectators, vendors, enthusiasts and other car-crazy people who have helped us make it this far. The success of Goodguys is the result of the hard work and dedication of countless hot rodders who have participated in and contributed to our events over the past three-and-a-half decades. For that, we are extremely grateful.
Fitting a comprehensive account of Goodguys’ 35-year history into a few magazine pages would be impossible, but we thought it would be appropriate to provide an overview of the trajectory we’ve taken in becoming the world’s largest association devoted to rods, customs, classic cars, trucks, muscle cars, and now next-generation machines. It’s also a great opportunity to reflect on some of the highlights, memories, personalities, accomplishments, significant moments and fun times that have made the past 35 years so enjoyable.
